On 15/16 October 2016 PATC-MS and Friends of Seneca will hold our Fall Trail Work Day at Seneca Rocks.  While we do have a few easier tasks, please be prepared for hard work.  At this event we will have crews working on the following items:

-Repair work to the stone steps below Triple S/Cockscomb and improvements to the nearby wooden staircase (below Neck Press).

-Repair work to the trail approaching the base of the Stairmaster (below The Burn, west of Ecstasy).

-Possible work on the East Ridge Trail

Registration is open to all volunteers.  You DO NOT need to be a member of PATC-MS to register and help out!

On Sunday, a few experienced PATC-MS trad leaders will host a trad gear/anchors clinic at the Lower Slabs at Seneca.  We'll break out racks and work with any weekend attendees on gear placements and removal, anchor building, knots, lead belaying, etc.

We will meet at 8am at the Gendarme on Saturday morning. Quitting time on Saturday is around 4pm.  Dinner on Saturday night will be provided by Friends of Seneca at the Gendarme.

Bring work gloves, water and a lunch.  Wear pants with good hiking shoes or work boots.  Safety glasses and helmets highly recommended as well.

Climbing on Sunday is encouraged; this is a one-day trail work event.

PATC-MS will reserve a Group Site at Seneca Shadows for all trail work volunteers to use on Friday and Saturday nights; more info to follow.  There is limited parking at the site.  If it's full, drop off your stuff and park at the walk-in area.  It's a short walk on the trail through the woods to the site.  Please be sure to tear-down on Sunday morning before you leave as we need to be out of the site by 1pm.

Please contact Andy Weinmann if you've never been to Seneca or have any other questions.  Once you register you'll get an email with a link to a spreadsheet to help coordinate transportation arrangements, camping, etc.
