New River Gorge: Memorial Day Weekend

Looking to get out of town and climb this Memorial Day Weekend?  Then look no further!  PATC-MS is organizing a three-night event at the New River Gorge for the long weekend (27-30 May 2016).

The New River Gorge is a mecca for single pitch sport and trad routes. This is not an instructional clinic/event.  Please arrange for a partner prior to the weekend - do not expect that others will take you in their party if you just show up.

The Club has reserved - but not paid for - a group site at Chestnut Creek Campground in Lansing, WV.  The Club will cover a portion of dinner on Saturday evening.  More details on both below.

Camping: Check-in is on Friday night, 27 May, and check-out is on Monday, 30 May. You have to register for this event to stay at our group site - please note that the Club is NOT covering the cost of camping for this trip.  The camping fee is due on arrival at Chestnut Creek.  $10/person/night by cash or $11/person/night by credit card.

We currently have 15 tent spots reserved for the group camp site (this is a tent count, not person count).  We will need to update/finalize that tent-count in the next few days, so please register and confirm ASAP (via email and the google spreadsheet that will be sent out upon registration) if you plan to camp with us.

Club Dinner: Saturday evening dinner at a local place in Fayetteville (place TBD) with the Club covering up to $200 of our total bill for the night.  Please bring cash to help cover any overage.  Details will be provided to all registered folks closer to the event.

Transportation, etc:  You are responsible for arranging your own transportation, climbing partner(s), camping/climbing gear, and food (other than the club dinner).  Parking will be limited at the campsite, so please plan to carpool.

Cancellation Policy: If you can no longer make the event, please change your registration as soon as possible. This allows people on the wait list to join. If you fail to show for an event and do not cancel within 48 hours, you will be considered a no show. Club members who have 3 or more no shows will not be able to register for future events for a period of one year whether it's due to failure to cancel or the person does not show up for the event at all.

PATC-MS Member Only policy: This event is for members of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club-Mountaineering Section only, in good standing with liability waivers on file, unless otherwise stated.

This event will be strictly enforced by event leaders. Any person who shows up to an event that is not a member will not be able to participate in the event.

-You'll get a link to the Camping and Carpool sign-up list once you register.

-Only Club members will be covered for the Club dinner.  Guests can obviously attend but must pay their checks separately.  Thanks!

Reminder: Climbing is a dangerous sport and serious injury may occur.
