| Sugarloaf Clean & Climb Recap |
|
Local climbers came out in full force this past Saturday to show some support for one of our local crags, Sugarloaf. The turnout was amazing, with more than 30 people coming to help remove trash from popular climbing areas, trails and overlooks.
This was no low key cleanup. In addition to picking up microtrash from popular climbing areas Middle Earth and Boy Scout Ledges, one group cleaned the along West View Rocks, a popular overlook (also a popular spot for throwing bottles, cans and other items that never quite make it to the trash cans). Fixed line rappels were used to safely reach the the base of the cliff, where much of the trash was found.
Thanks to everyone that came out and doing an excellent job. Photos From Event: |
