Greetings friends, climbing partners and people I will soon be friends with.
For those that don't know me I'm Ocean Eiler, the president of Mid-Atlantic Climbers and Virginia's Regional Access Fund Representative.
What is this about a volunteers battle cry?
Heres the gig. Over the last 8 years DC metro climbers have come out in full effect to support their local crags. We have rebuilt retaining walls, bridges and trails. Removed graffiti, trash & unwanted invasive plants. Plus we have done cliff side maintenance to help save the very trees we anchor to. All in an effort to give back to the climbing areas that mean so much to DC. Generally we have two events almost back to back one at Carderock, MD and one at Great Falls, VA, However this year we are focusing our attention on Great Falls VA.
The Mid-Atlantic Climbers 8th Annual Adopt-a-Crag
September 25, 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Great Falls Park, VA
Thus this battle cry for volunteers.
Volunteering the day of is awesome (many of you know this), but getting involved before hand makes the event your own. You can look with satisfaction at all the hard work that you all will be doing and know in your hart that you were apart of making all this possible.
Currently we need:
- Teamleads - Day of the event you will be in charge of a team of volunteers. Prep work before the day of the event includes knowing the details of your assignment, attending a meeting and a walk through of the park.
- Graphic Artist - We need flyer & T-Shirt graphics (ASAP)
- Cold Caller - these people will be calling potential sponsors more or less looking for swag (and funds if your that good)
- General Volunteers - tell us you will be their ready to work. This lets us know how many people to expect and how much food we need to BBQ.
