Each spring the Mountaineering Section kicks off the climbing season at Carderock by offering an opportunity for new climbers or gym climbers to come give outdoor climbing a try.

All ages and experience levels are welcome and no prior knowledge or equipment is required.  The club will provide harnesses and shoes to those who need them.  Club member volunteers will be on hand to provide belays and basic instructions.
