History
The Washington Metropolitan Area has a long history of rock climbing, and Mountaineering Section have been instrumental in much of it.
  • Club History
Since 1937, the Mountaineering Section of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club have provided a place for Washington, DC's climbers and alpinists to meet, share knowledge, and climb together from local crags to distant mountains.
  • Local Climbing History
Washingtonians have been taking to their local crags for as long as they have lived in the area.
  • Oral History

The Oral History Project has been conducting interviews with pioneering climbers who tied in with the club since the 1950s.
