The Potomac
Mountain Club has seen a surge of interest in Ice climbing since 2005
to warrant the purchase of Ice climbing boots for the ice curious. The
ice climbing festivals across this continent during the winter time is
a wonderful introducion to this sport. Locally speaking, New York's
Mountainfest near Lake Placid and Ice Fest in North Conway, NH and
recently the ice festival in Smugglers Notch Vermont offer many clinics
for the green horn or the seasoned ice screw.
