This is a day of Climbing at Seneca to honor Herb Conn who died recently at the age of 91.
Herb Conn was icon of early climbing in the states, particularly at Seneca and Carderock in the mid-atlantic. Although many of us know his local contributions, it is not uncommon to find his first ascents spread throughout New England, Texas, Utah, and South Dakota.
The idea is to have a day of climbing routes that the Conn's established and get several group photos. One idea was a photo of everyone on the Conn's east ledge. Pictures and a letter will then be sent to Jan Conn, as a token of the clubs appreciation for their contributions and Herb's life.
The agenda for the day is currently open. I would suggest meeting either at Seneca Shadows campground on Friday night or the lower parking lot at 8:00 am near the Roy Gap Rd Bridge.
