Potomac Appalachian Trail Club-Mountaineering Section (PATC-MS) organizes an Alpine Skills Weekend each winter to share our member’s mountaineering experiences from Mt. Rainier, Denali, Aconcagua and more. No Prior Experience Required. Participants must obtain (rent, borrow, buy) general mountaineering equipment and winter clothing for possible extreme severe weather conditions. Schedule of Events: This weekend is quite flexible. Mountaineering topics discussed will be determined by the experience of the group and what people want to share or learn from. Typically, the group breaks into an introductory group and an advanced group.
